Sam Shepard (November 5, 1943–July 27, 2017) was an American actor, playwright, and director. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1979 for his play Buried Child and was nominated for an Oscar in 1983 as Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of pilot Chuck Yeager in The Right Stuff. He’s best known for his work in the theater, as a playwright, actor, and director. Shepard was one of the most important and influential writers of his generation, specialized in capturing the darker sides of American family life. He wrote 44 plays as well as several books of short stories, essays, and memoirs. In 1979 he received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his play Buried Child.

Armina LaManna is a director, playwright, and the Founding Artistic Director of Imagine Theatre - LA’s Equity Theatre for Young Audiences. She is a thirty-six year veteran of the stage whose career in theatre began in the former USSR. Her U.S. theatre credits include work at theaters in Los Angeles and Philadelphia. Last year, LaManna was one of the recipients fo the Outstanding Women of 2019 Honor from International Armenian Chamber of Commerce and in 2007, she was a recipient of a Samuel S. Felt Fund Grant in Dramaturgy. She is a member of SDC, AEA, and Dramatists Guild. LaManna is on the Adjunct Faculty at Glendale College, prior to which she taught at Temple University in Philadelphia where she also got her MFA in Directing. Founder of Crescent Moon Entertainment.

Her solo play LETTERS FROM HOME has been developed and performed through residencies across the West Coast. She has performed at The Kirk Douglas Theatre, Theatre @ Boston Court, REDCAT, Disney Hall, The Hammer Museum, Highways Performance Space, The Actors’ Gang, and The Getty Villa, among others, collaborating with critically-acclaimed theatre and opera companies including Critical Mass Performance Group, The Industry, Rogue Artists Ensemble, Independent Shakespeare Company, Four Larks Theatre (Ovation Award for The Temptation of St. Antony), and CalArts’ Center for New Performance. MFA in Acting from CalArts. BM in vocal performance from UCSC.

Regional: world premiere of Ether Dome at The La Jolla Playhouse and Mother Courage and Her Children at the American Repertory Theater). Los Angeles credits: Macbeth at the Antaeus Theater Company, The Three Musketeers at the Theatricum Botanicum, Ebenezer at The Speakeasy Society, Flesh Eating Tiger at Highways, directed by Vincent Paterson). He is a company member at The Independent Shakespeare Company, where he has played the roles Marc Anthony, Oberon, among others, and will be portraying the title role of Macbeth in the spring. He holds an MFA in acting from CalArts and is on faculty at the Los Angeles City College.

Television credits include YOUNG SHELDON, GOOD GIRLS, RAY DONOVAN, SUPERSTORE, HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, and GENERAL HOSPITAL. Thomas lives with the love of his life and wife of 41 years, novelist Christine Ashworth.
